LFI Mini Lesson and new portraits in the shop!

InkPortraitswithLucyCookeMiniLesson2020

I am excited to share that my mini lesson is now available on Let’s Face It 2020, as of today! I had such fun making this lesson for you, with ink and pens and twigs, brushes, and skewer! Sometimes, making art with unexpected tools is just what we need to keep loose and have fun!

I can have the tendency to get too caught up with detail in my paintings at times, so, it’s really good for me to loosen up and invite happy accidents and imperfections, and scribbliness, into my drawings…which in turn, loosens up my painting. If you haven’t joined Let’s Face It 2020 yet, you can still. It is a year long course, with new lessons every week, by a variety of artists. It’s pretty awesome…I learn so much from this class…and I have since 2017.

I have also reopened my ArtcyLucy Etsy shop, and added a few new paintings…from abstract waterlilies, to still life, and petite painted portraits!

I hope you are enjoying this new year, this new decade! I know at times, it can be difficult to feel creative, when life gets intense, or we are facing challenges. I have faced a few this past year, and still, I try at least for ONE drawing a day, in spite of how I feel, and how busy I am.

I think it is so important to keep the creativity going, don’t you?

“Creativity doesn’t wait for that perfect moment. It fashions its own perfect moments out of ordinary ones.” — Bruce Garrabrandt
