It’s Summer!

Yes, it’s August! Can you believe it? Weirdest Year Ever…and very difficult in so many ways. I hope you are all doing well as can be, in a world of uncertainty and illness. My heart and head is so full, trying to process it all, and keep a handle on my emotions and thoughts and feelings.

I have been pretty quiet here, and haven’t shared much since the Spring Auction with Stephanie Gagos. It took a lot out of me, but in a very good way. You see, all 21 of my paintings sold in 24 hours! I was flabbergasted, and overwhelmed and completely thrilled all at the same time. It took me a couple weeks to package and ship…and all the paintings reached their destinations, and everyone was happy…and then I got to release the breath I had been holding…phewwwww!

I want to give a HUGE shout out to the ones that came to support the Spring Auction this year, and to Stephanie Gagos for hosting such an amazing event and allowing me to be a part of this beautiful show. It was such an outpouring of friendship and appreciation, it really did my heart a world of good! THANK YOU!!!!!

I took a few weeks to recover and ground myself again, and I have been painting ever since. My Let’s Face It 2020 painting lesson became live about three weeks ago, and that was my last teaching obligation for the year, and for the near future. I decided months ago, that I needed a break from the teaching side of things.

I have been dealing with chronic pain for almost a year and a half, and this seemed a very good time to slow down and give myself some much needed TLC, to learn to be patient with myself and what I can do now…as opposed to how I used to schedule my art life and business. I am accessing and making adjustments as I go along…but one of the best things that has helped me deal with all of this, is making the time to paint just for me. And painting when I feel up for it, instead of when I HAD to for a class or commission. It feels very different to paint for oneself…I forgot what that joy was like.

So…what I have to share with you today (besides my thoughts and feelings) is my newest paintings. These all come from a deep and beautiful place…with lots of emotions attached to each of them.

I am still very much enthralled with portraits, as you can see. But there are some flowers and waterlilies here too. All of these paintings are now available in my ArtcyLucy shop on Etsy
